La Pineta del Tombolo
This area of coastline, has a rectangle shape and is characterised by the presence of large and majestic pinewood of parasol pines. From the existing historical documentation it appears that this is one of the most ancient coasts of pinewoods in Italy, developed originally on the coast of Tombolo that separated the ancient Prile Lake from the Tyrrhenian Sea.
La Diaccia Botrona
The Diaccia-Botrona marshland constitutes the remains of a very wide humid area, stretching originally from Castiglione della Pescaia to Grosseto, and characterised by the mixing of seawater of very high salinity with the fresh water of the Bruna and Ombrone rivers.
